About Anchorpoint
I've been in love with cars for as long as I can remember.
As a kid I collected brochures for every make and model I could find, spending weekends test driving vehicles with my dad just for the joy of it. Long before Anchorpoint existed, friends and family were coming to me for advice, and I was putting together detailed proposals to help them find the right vehicle at the right price. Over the years I've helped more than 100 people navigate the process, and I've seen firsthand what happens when buyers go it alone. Good people making rushed decisions, paying more than they should, or driving away in something that wasn't really right for them. It happened to people I care about. Honestly, it happened to me too.
This kind of independent, client-focused consulting is rare in HRM, and I started Anchorpoint because I realized this kind of guidance shouldn't be reserved for people who happen to know the right person. Everyone deserves access to honest, independent support when making one of the biggest purchases of their lives.
Why a Teacher Makes a Great Auto Consultant
By day, I'm an educator at a private school in Halifax, where I've spent over a decade teaching Math, Science, French, and Technology at the secondary level. I hold a Master of Education in Leadership from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I'm bilingual in English and French.
That background matters more than it might seem. Teaching is fundamentally about breaking complex information down into something clear, accessible, and actionable for the person in front of you. That's exactly what I do for every Anchorpoint client.
As Department Chair of Technology, I built our school's Innovation Lab from the ground up, a program that now serves 500+ students annually. It exists because I believe that when people have the right tools, guidance, and information, they make better decisions. The same principle drives everything at Anchorpoint.
I also work as a Learning Coach with adult and post-secondary learners, many of whom are returning to education after years away. A big part of that work is rebuilding confidence and helping people navigate systems that weren't originally designed with them in mind. Sound familiar? That's exactly the experience many people have when they walk into a dealership.
